What you do in Street Fighter 2
This is a one-on-one action duel. You play Ryu and trade hits with Sagat until one health bar is empty. Beyond standard punches and kicks, the round is decided by two moves: the hadouken fireball for keeping distance and the shoryuken uppercut for stopping Sagat when he jumps in. The game runs on the OTR engine and is built for short, repeatable fights rather than a long story.
Controlling Ryu
You move with the directions and attack with the punch and kick buttons. The special moves come from motion inputs, so they take a little practice.

Winning the Sagat duel
Sagat fights at range with high and low Tiger Shots and punishes jumps with his uppercut. Knowing what he is likely to throw out tells you how to answer.

Tips for beating Sagat
A few habits make the fight far easier.
- Lead with hadoukens to push Sagat toward the corner.
- Save the shoryuken as your reversal for his jump-ins.
- Do not jump in carelessly. His uppercut will catch you.
- Punish a whiffed Sagat uppercut with your best combo.
